Great books for noobs like me

So im just beginning my journey to the dark side....these books seem to be helping me out pritty good

"The web application hackers handbook" second edition. Just began to read this one and seems to be doing a great job simply explaining things step by step with exercises.

"Metasploit The penetration testers guide" Step by step on using Metasploit with all its features. Starts off about the basics to writing your own moduals. Exception doesn't go into using Armitage

"Professional Penetration Testing" good book uses good examples. Book comes with labs with bootable cd's that are vulnerable to hacks that you practice on.

"Rootkits: Subverting the Windows Kernel" I heard this book is great. I havent read this one just yet...

I have the metasploit book myself, I think it is pretty good but I have not read through it for a while. As I understand it you cannot use metasploit on the exam for OSCP, so I am focusing on other things.

Web application hackers handbook is great, some other good books are the hacking exposed series, I used to
think these were really bad but once i read hacking exposed: wireless 3rd edition i am convinced this series is pretty good.

another nice book is: Hacking: the art of exploitation

Kevin Mitnick book series is very inspiring (nice reads, for leisure)

The Hacker Playbook 2 was one of the best books that I've read through, and is something that I recommend to all people just getting into security testing. It goes through the different phases of a penetration test and will outline tools, usage, and examples in very thorough detail. A great pickup overall.

Stealing the Network is also a good read in the same vein the Kevin Mitnick series are. I read How to Own a Continent, years ago but recently picked up the whole series. On a more practical level I've read a few of the books above, like Hacking: Art of Exploitation, and Gray Hat Hacking. I'm also reading through Hacker's Playbook

I recommend the "The Hacker Playbook 2" too.
