Kali image provided by the PWK course crashes

Hi,

I just wanna report that it has happen twice when I ran

sudo apt upgrade -y

on the Kali image provided by the PWK course that the installation crashed and became
unresponsive until I killed the VM (VMWARE). By "crashed" I mean black, flickering screen that comes up roughly in the middle of the upgrade process and could do nothing except from killing the machine.
I got no reaction when I pressed CTRL+C. The guide advised me to use this particular image to ensure I can complete the course without any unnecessary complications. The image is apparently
modified specifically for the needs of student of the PWK course.

The aforementioned issue didn't happen with the freely available vanilla installation. I could run the command and everything was fine. The modified image crashes on my
workstation.

Can I get some assistance on this ?

The course docs say no need to update any packages. The "-y" is also in the wrong place, try this "sudo apt update && sudo apt -y upgrade" should be the command.
